Why Join?

The Creative City Network of Canada (CCNC) offers a platform for networking, celebrating excellence and forging new partnerships in the fields of cultural planning, cultural research,  public art, events, heritage, and other forms of cultural programming.
By joining the CCNC, members unlock many important benefits such as:

  • Access best practices, tool kits, and peers across the country literally at your fingertips
  • Learn from experts through keynote speeches, webinars, and feature articles in the member news
  • Join working groups, subcommittees, list serves, or special project teams and grow professional learnings and expand progressive practice
  • Join the Cultural Statistics Consortium and get hold of culture data! CCNC's partnership with the Department of Canadian Heritage allows our members to leverage the power of the network and purchase reliable numbers using a consistent national methodology for an affordable price. Measure the direct economic impact of culture in your city (local GDP and job data statistics) in all major culture categories and stay tuned to additional projects including forecasting and social impacts of culture.

  • Give and receive insights and first-hand knowledge, gain confidence and credibility, and be connected with knowledgeable peers working in culture across the country through list serves and networking events

  • Apply for funding to host a Regional Meeting in your own area to build partnerships with surrounding municipalities

  • Reach outside of Canada as a part of a network increasingly involved in international cultural conferences as our country continues to attract attention and praise for cultural resources and planning nurtured by and featured through our network
