PUBLIC ART ADVISORY COUNCIL

Established in 2014, CCNC’s Public Art Network (now Public Art Advisory Council) is a committee of public art professionals working in the municipal context. This committee works to ensure that resources, materials, and news shared by CCNC about public art are topical and relevant to the work done in this area by municipalities. They assist the Summit Planning Committee in planning and executing public art programs at the Creative City Summit including discussion topics, Public Art Year in Review honourees, and speaker suggestions.

This committee is open to all membership types. Recruitment is announced as needed.

Canadian Municipal Events Alliance

The Canadian Municipal Events Alliance is a newly rejuvenated committee designed to connect members working in events and festivals at any level. The group will share best practices, challenges, and solutions while also serving the larger Network. Tasks include assisting the Summit Planning Committee in developing programming for the Creative City Summit as well as programs for CCNC throughout the year.

This committee is open to all membership types. Recruitment is announced as needed.

SUMMIT PLANNING COMMITTEE

Each year, the Creative City Network of Canada orchestrates a three-day conference in the designated Creative City of the Year. Committee members for the Summit Planning Committee serve a variety of purposes including Host City Lead (chief liaison between CCNC and the Host City planning), representatives from the previous year’s Host City, representatives from the following year’s Host City, and representatives of CMEA, PAAC, IDEA, and more.
 
This committee is accessible by invitation expressions of interest are welcome.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

This committee assists CCNC with membership development strategy and proposes changes to fee and benefit structures. Their work includes assisting CCNC in annual campaigns to retain and grow membership, reviewing membership framework and advising on changes to the CCNC membership experience.

This committee is open to Municipal members and by invitation. Organizational or Individual Members are welcomed to express interest in this committee.

IDEA COMMITTEE

Formed in 2021, this committee was assembled to ensure that Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility are actively upheld in the programs and policies of CCNC and its committees as well as featured in programming at the Creative City Summit. This committee is responsible to reviewing current models of IDEA within and outside of CCNC, making recommendations regarding improvement of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in CCNC’s work, and participating in strategic planning.

This committee is open to Municipal members and by invitation. Organizational or Individual Members are welcomed to express interest in this committee.

CULTURAL STATISTICS STRATEGY WORKING GROUP

This committee is comprised of Designated Reviewers of the Cultural Statistics Strategy (CSS) as approved by the Department of Canadian Heritage. This group meets with the Department of Canadian Heritage (PCH) on national CSA calls and reviews cultural data prior to publication.

This committee is comprised of Designated Reviewers of the CSS only.

STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE

(ad hoc)

This ad hoc committee will help the Board of Directors in undertaking a new Strategic Plan for the Creative City Network of Canada. Tasks include reviewing current Strategic Plan; Regularly meeting with the Executive Director and designated directors to assist in the crafting of a new document.

Access to this committee is reserved for Municipal members and by invitation. If you are an Organizational or Individual Member interested in this committee, we welcome your level of interest, and will note it if we require your expertise on future committees.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Separate from the Creative City Summit, this new committee will assist in the coordination of new and existing CCNC programs. The committee will focus on existing programs, grant projects, potential partnerships, and projects that advance CCNC’s mission.
