Open Call for Public Art: Saint-Laurent Project

City of Lethbridge

Saint-Laurent Public Art Project

The City of Lethbridge Public Art Program

The City of Lethbridge, Alberta is inviting artists to participate in a two-stage public art competition. The selected artist will receive a commission to design, fabricate, and install a public artwork in the Borough of Saint-Laurent in the City of Montréal, Québec. The selected public artwork will be gifted by Lethbridge to the Borough of Saint-Laurent to be permanently installed as a legacy of the 50 year Anniversary of the twinning of the two cities. The work of art will become part of the City of Montréal’s public art collection. The Borough of Saint-Laurent will in turn offer a commissioned public artwork to the City of Lethbridge for permanent installation on a Lethbridge site. The commissioned works will reflect the concept of community, friendship, diversity, and reaching out. These legacy art pieces will allow future generations to recognize the importance of history and friendship in our diverse and inclusive country, and will celebrate the bonds of friendship between Lethbridge and the Borough Saint-Laurent.

Artists must register on Alberta Purchasing Connection ( to view and respond to the Request for Proposals.
