This position is responsible for advancing arts education by developing and facilitating Richmond Arts Centre arts education programs and other Arts activities and events that meet the needs of Richmond’s culturally diverse community. This position is also responsible for ensuring there are multiple opportunities available for children, youth and adults to engage in and learn about the arts through centre-based and outreach programs and events.

Keep our community happy and healthy as you:

  • Plan, develop, implement, schedule and evaluate arts education programs in a wide range of artistic disciplines for a range of ages and abilities.
  • Create, develop and implement arts education program guidelines.
  • Foster community partnerships to expand the arts in Richmond through outreach programs and community events.
  • Develop and coordinate promotional materials for seasonal arts education programs and events.
  • Collaborate with other City staff members and departments to support city-wide events and programs.

This role is ideal for those who possess extensive knowledge of programming in community arts education spaces, have sounds knowledge of teaching and evaluation methods and the ability to create and foster relationships with outside agencies  and other art professionals.

Position Requirements:

Completion of a University degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline plus a minimum of two (2) years of experience in arts programming and two (2) years of experience providing direction and monitoring the work of instructors and contractors.
