Our Community Services department is recruiting for a Coordinator to join their Cultural Programming team. The Community Cultural Coordinator is integral in the nurturing and development of a vibrant cultural community, engaging artists and cultural organizations to assist in the growth and development of healthy and sustainable cultural sector within St. Albert. The Coordinator is responsible for managing several cultural operating and capital projects, special events and community programs. This position will work with community organizations to provide advice and direction through consultative services in the planning, implementation, development and evaluation of their program delivery.
The Community Cultural Coordinator carries an important role within the Northern Alberta International Children’s Festival by providing oversight and coordination for a core operational area.
This position requires an understanding of organization development and effectiveness, community development, strategic and business planning, consensus building and facilitation. Budget, project and process management are also fundamental skills needed for success in this role. The individual we are looking for has strong interpersonal skills and is adept at collaborating with internal and community partners. Someone with good planning and organization skills will be a great fit for this position.
- Degree in a related field of study (e.g. Arts, Cultural Studies, Recreation) preferred, and five years related experience. Or, Diploma in a related field and seven years related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- Experience in arts management, project management or community and public relations within the arts sector is preferred.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Hours of Work
We offer a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off [RDO] every two weeks).
$74,438 - $90,565 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package.
