Creative City Network of Canada
UPDATE: Calgary Summit

April is the time of year when we’d normally be announcing registration for the fall Creative City Summit. We know many of you are eager to hear how the Creative City Network of Canada will be moving forward with our Summit plans in Calgary. Given the impact and unresolved nature of the pandemic, we have, unfortunately, determined that 2021 will be a second no-summit year for our Network.

Our sincerest gratitude to the City of Calgary – we look forward to planning an event in your beautiful city in the future!

This year, we will be working toward creating an opportunity for culture workers to connect in the fall and will be announcing more details in the summer months. We know how valued our Summit is in a regular year, and we feel the importance of remaining a point of connection as the sector continues to be impacted by COVID-19.

CCNC remains committed to providing resources, programs, and networking opportunities for its members. Throughout this past year, we have seen thoughtful conversations take place during our Regional Dialogue Sessions in the winter, and in our ongoing National Call for Members series. Our new website and Members Portal were designed with interaction in mind. If you are a member, we encourage you to bookmark the CCNC Members Portal and visit it often to hear about the latest from the Network and its members.

With this news, comes an exciting announcement.

The next Creative City Summit (2022) will be hosted by the City of Waterloo, ON. This will be a doubly special Summit as it will be our first event since the pandemic AND our 20th anniversary year as a Network! We are confident this will be one of the best Creative City Summits yet and cannot wait to gather with you in 2022!
