Toronto, ON – The Green / Arts Barns Project
Project to restore and redevelop the historic Wychwood TTC streetcar repair facility situated on a 4.3-acre brownfield site in Toronto’s St. Clair and Bathurst neighbourhood. Website

• Provide affordable housing and work studios for artists
• Offer affordable office and programming space for arts and environmental non-profit organizations
• Afford venues for community meetings, exhibitions and festivals
• Create access to an ecological food growing and education centre
• Showcase sustainable, energy-efficient design principles
• Encourage community accessibility, inclusiveness, engagement and collaboration
Arts and Ecological Sustainability Report
IFACCA (January 2009). This report provides examples of good practice in supporting artists orarts organisations with creative and practical responses to ecologicalconcerns. The research was undertaken in collaboration with ArtsCouncil England, which was looking to identify potential partners withwhom to develop its own work in this area. This report contains acommentary and analysis of the responses to the D’art query fromIFACCA’s network written by ACE’s John Hartley, and includes backgroundand context, a full digest of responses, and links to informationresources.
