2008 Creative City Summit
October 16 - 17, 2008 | Whitehorse, Yukon
The first Creative City Summit took place October 16 & 17, 2008 in Whitehorse, Yukon. This meeting marked a departure from the format of the six preceding Creative City conferences; in response to requests from members and conference delegates, the Summit was designed to be more intimate and interactive, and to provide practitioners with a means to participate in discussions and to learn from their fellow attendees. The Creative City Summit was a huge success - over 90 delegates from St. John's to Victoria attended two days of professional development for staff from creative Canadian cities. The content was rich, and credit goes to the planning committee and inspiring speakers who facilitated the workshop-style sessions. The Summit also included a wide variety of fun side trips and entertainment organized by Tourism Whitehorse - the cancan dancers at the Welcome Reception were not to be missed!

2007 Creative City Conference

The sixth annual Creative City Network of Canada Conference took place October 10-13, 2007 at the Sutton Place Hotel in Edmonton, AB. This three day conference, The Ecology of a Creative Community, was hosted by the Edmonton Arts Council and the City of Edmonton.
