The 2009 Creative City Conference kicked off with some opening remarks from the President of the Board, Betty Anne Keller (Waterloo, ON) and Conference Chair, Angela Watson (Fredericton, NB). Angela then welcomed Herménégilde Chiasson, Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick to give an inspiring opening keynote presentation which will be transcribed and available here shortly.

Session A featured community engagement success stories from three Canadian municipalities: Golden, BC; Mississauga, ON; and Fredericton, NB. From a small town "creative city", to public engagement and cultural planning strategies, and the engagement of both the tourism and cultural industries, delegates were able to take some specific community engagement strategies away with them.
